We study and practice using this series. Students practice grammar with written homework, then follow up in class with books closed! Because class time is a valuable oral/aural opportunity , we practice by listening and speaking, not by reading/writing the exercises! G R A M M A R C O N V E R S A T I O N P R O N U N C I A T I O N We practice difficult sounds like... Aging v.s. Asian really v.s. leery clothes v.s. thistles The advanced class studies important vocabulary found in high school textbooks, novels, magagzines, and newspapers using this popular vocabulary textbook. Lots of listening practice through recorded conversations, dictation exercises, and conversation games in class. Our ESL students get help with assignments in their other classes. If their literature teacher assigns an essay, for example, our ESL students can get help in the ESL class before they hand in the essay.
